Since the entire rosé class has become overrun with wimpy, sweet, carnation pink wines, we decided to invent an entirely new category last year - Rubies. Somewhat akin to the Clairet wines of Bordeaux, Ruby Primo sits between a Provence Rosé and a Village Rouge. It is garnet in color, walks a fine line between fruit and savory on the palate, and carries much more structure, texture and depth than one would expect.
